The Harmfulness Of Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide, commonly known as hydrogen peroxide, is a colorless transparent liquid, easily decomposed and released new oxygen, and has the effect of antibacterial, deodorization and decolorization. Different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide can cure various diseases, such as 3% hydrogen peroxide could be used on the wound and ulcer, 1% Solution Treat tonsillitis, stomatitis, gum infections and diphtheria. However, some illegal businesses use the sterilization and bleaching effect of hydrogen peroxide to make cheap industrial hydrogen peroxide (commonly used in paper and textile industry) used for food processing, so that better phase transformation can be achieved. However, excessive intake of hydrogen peroxide can lead to many hazards. High concentration of hydrogen peroxide can reduce human resistance, induce DNA damage and gene mutation of genetic material, and cause many diseases such as stomach, eye, heart and lung. At present, the state has banned the use of industrial hydrogen peroxide in the processing of food. The detection range of this product: the liquid sample is 0 ~ 400mg/L, and the solid sample is 0 ~ 4000mg/kg.

Usage method

Waterishlogged food products and aquatic products: 1mL water products or product water soaking liquid or liquid samples as eluent.

Solid food: take 2G shredded samples in colorimetric tube or beaker, add pure water or distilled water to 20mL, fully shake, soak 10min, to be measured.

Take the liquid to 1mL in a centrifuge tube, add 4 drops of indicator cover after shake, observe the color change.

Result determination

The positive sample is orange red. The higher the concentration is, the deeper the color is, the reference standard can be semi quantified by the color plate.

Scope of application

For the rapid determination of hydrogen peroxide in on beef tripe, sea cucumber, fish, squid, chicken and goose intestines.

Matters needing attention

High concentration of sodium hydroxide, ethanol may make the detection tube bright yellow, high concentration formaldehyde, sulfite may make the detection tube become blue, but with positive samples (orange red series) is completely different, do not interfere with determination of results.

This method is the fast detection method in the field, and the precise quantitative method should be based on the national standard method.

The supporting centrifuge tube can be reused after cleaning.
